I am fortunate enough to have a job which allows me to pursue my love of books. I devise and teach short courses in Literature for the WEA. Formerly I was a Senior Lecturer in English and American Literature at the University of Winchester and Programme Leader in American Studies.
I have a commitment to lifelong learning having begun my degree with the Open University at the age of 29 at which time the Wordsworth Editions £1 classics were very helpful! I went on to take a Masters degree at the University of Southampton, and finally completed my Doctorate at the age of 49, alongside my teaching work.
I am a regular reader of the Wordsworth Blog and have particular interests in gothic literature, crime fiction and women’s writing of the 19th and 20th Centuries.
